Holloway Funeral Home Response

UPDATED March 12, 2021 (Salisbury, Maryland)— Holloway Funeral Home’s priority is the safety, well-being and health of our community, families and their guests, and caring professional staff. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure a safe place for the families we serve and our caring professional staff. We are taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of any illnesses.

The information provided here represents our current response based on information available to us by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Maryland State Department of Health (MDH), and National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).

Holloway Funeral Home is strictly following social distancing and face covering requirements for all events, locations and interactions, as recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Services, visitations, and facilities will be limited to 50% capacity (approximately 100 guests in Salisbury, MD and 50 guests in Pocomoke City, MD).

Additionally, the following measures are in place:

  • Place of death response, residential or institution. Upon notification of a death occurring, we will maintain our most expedited response unless otherwise instructed by us or the facility where the death occurred.
  • Arrangement consultations. We are asking families to limit attendance to a maximum of 5 family members. Alternatively, our funeral directors and pre-planning advisors have technology to initiate and complete arrangements over the phone, reducing in person consultation time.
  • Visitations and funerals. Our funeral home locations are available for public or private use. Mask usage and social distancing will be required. Accessibility and monitoring attendance will be discussed with each family.
  • Attendance guidelines. We are following current CDC and MDH regarding number of attendees at any event. To facilitate social distancing at our services, we are restricting attendance to a 50% capacity. This results in approximately 100 guests at our Salisbury, MD facility and 50 guests at our Pocomoke City, MD facility.
  • We are staggering on-site gatherings. We will not have back-to-back or multiple services happening in one location at a time to avoid large gatherings.
  • Technology capabilities. We have online arrangement collaboration, service selection options, merchandise selection, obituary writing, death certificate completion and confirmation identification viewing. We also have state-of-the-art on-site webcast and web conferencing capabilities.
  • Our locations will follow increased infection prevention and control precautions, per CDC/OSHA guidelines. While cleanliness and safety are always a top priority for all locations, we have increased our public and workspace sanitation schedules and frequency. This includes disinfecting after each service and periodically throughout services with high-touch surfaces and writing utensils.
  • All employees are instructed to stay home in the event of illness. In addition to team mebers being vaccinated as part of Group 1A, we have encouraged team members to remain at home if they feel unwell.
  • We ask all families and individuals to assess their own health before visiting one of our facilities or attending a funeral.
  • Off-site guidelines. We have contacted area churches and facilities to understand their guidelines and restrictions for private events. Please contact us for further information.
  • Cemetery guidelines. We have contacted area cemeteries to understand their guidelines and restrictions for events. Please contact us for further information.
  • Share online condolences. Even if guests can’t attend services in-person, they may still show support by leaving a message on your loved one’s online guestbook. To do so, navigate toHollowayFH.com.
  • Send flowers. Consider sending flowers to either the funeral home holding services or directly to a family member’s home.

Holloway Funeral Home will continue to keep you informed and these guidelines are subject to updates or changes.

We are here to assist families 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling any of locations.
