Organization Spotlight: Parsons Cemetery

Historic Parsons Cemetery is owned and operated by Saint Peters Episcopal Church in Salisbury, Maryland and is open to all.  This is both an operational and historical cemetery with its history intertwined with the history of Salisbury itself.  This cemetery, gifted in 1873 by Benjamin Parsons, is a mid-18th century garden type cemetery filled with beautiful old trees and shrubs.

Parsons Cemetery can reasonably offer beautiful choices for you and your loved ones.  With a beautiful lakeside setting, Parsons offers water-view plots, columbaria, and a permanent cremation garden with a handicapped accessible gathering circle for memorial services.  Parsons offers many other options in the more established burial sections.

In 2004, St. Peters Church determined to separate the Parsons Cemetery’s management and funding from those of the Church.  At that time, a new Parsons Cemetery Advisory Committee (PCAC) was formed with six voting members, three from the Church and three from the community.

As a non-profit organization, the Parsons Cemetery Perpetual Care Endowment Fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Eastern Shore (CFES).

Holloway Funeral Home has been the contracted by the Parsons Cemetery Advisory Committee as the manager of the cemetery since 2005.
